i have been shaving ALL of my hair ‘down there’ since i was about 10 (i have a OCD sorta thing about hair, im not a young porn star lol), and now im 16, the hair is ver dark and thick…

this means that it grows back after about a day, so i have to shave all the time… but this causes a rash, and makes my skin bleed and is really quite sore.
recently ive had loads of ingrowing hairs that ive had to pull out with tweezers, but theyve been full of pus and leave a big scab.

dont say wax, been there and hated it. my hair is too thick for hair removal cream, and dont even get me started with epilators!

ive tried shaving with the hair then across and then against, but it still bleeds and comes up in a rash.
ive tried using shaving cream and aftershave balm, still hurts.

the thing also is that ive got a tattoo there (ANOTHER long story), and its kinda ruining it now :(

also, why does this happen on my legs? ive been shaving them for longer!

help :( xxx
"why do you want no hair anyway? boys/men do not want to go down there and see a 6 year olds…"

i dont like hair, it feels coarse and yucky and unhigenic… and also, ive got tattoo where it should be anyway :)
(not around my actual ‘area’ just above)

I am getting a large tattoo covering my lower abdomen / pubic area. I will obviously be wanting to keep the area smoothly shaven. At the minute I only shave down there every-so-often to avoid irritating the area – but is there any way I can minimize irritation whilst shaving more regularly once I’m tattooed? Would hair removal cream damage the healed tattoo?

So, I can’t afford laser removal and I’ve been reading online a lot. The creams seem to only work on some but do nothing for others, and I don’t want to spend 0+ for the 8 months or so that it would take to notice anything. There were several people who did this method and I’m wondering if it would work.

This is what you must have:
Sea salt
Gauze
Something like a block to wrap the gauze around

Other things I plan to use to help the process and prevent infection/scarring:
Neosporin
Alcohol prep pads
Lemons

What you do is wipe the are with alcohol to clean it, then wrap something with gauze that you can easily hold in your hand. Wet with water and dip in sea salt, rub the area of the tattoo until it is a deep red but not bleeding. After that, put lemon juice on it and rub a little more. When that’s done clean it up then patch it with sea salt and bandage with gauze. Leave on for 24 hours, take off then clean and put on neosporin. Let it scab and fall off.
Several people did this method and claimed it scabbed up and after a week or so fell off and the tattoo was completely gone. Has anyone else tried this?
A cover up would be out of the price range since it is my left and right arm that are covered on the upper part with one large piece on each and several small pieces around it. Neosporin is supposed to prevent bad scarring but I’d be willing to trade a few minor scars for these tats since they represent a part of my life I’d like to leave behind which is impossible when you have to look at it every day.

About 8 or 9 years ago I was at AM-JAM and I thought it would be "funny" to get a tattoo of a playboy bunny on my butt. (black, not colored in) At the time i had aspirations of being a male stripper.. shoot for the stars, eh? anyway, i’m now 24 and needless to say its NOT COOL. I’m too poor to afford laser removal, i looked into it and i hear creams are worthless.. So i need an idea to cover this bad boy up. Not many ppl know about this tat so I havent been able to get many ideas from others. Its extreamly embarassing, i hide it from lovers and i’m afraid to shower at the gym. Its located about 3 inches back and down off of my right hip bone and its about 2 inches tall x 11/2 inches wide.. so its more or less on the side of my ***, not on the actual cheek. I can have something run up onto my side or down my leg. Im very athletic and in great shape so i dont mind anything going up my side. I’m also religious so I was thinking a cross design to cover this abomination.. HELP!? thank you!

Hello, (before answering, please read, or do not mention any other options of removal.)

I know there are creams, but that’s not an option for me. I want a scar, or wouldn’t mind having one to remind me. Besides, I already foolishly tried to cut across the tattoo to give it a certain look, but I messed it up, and will have a scar anyways.

I live in Canada (Toronto), and was curious if it’s still possible to find clinics that provide tattoo excisions?

I simply cannot afford laser removal : (
It’s also a rather new tattoo (a year old), so it might take many sessions.
Not to mention the tattoo is only about an inch long, and a centimeter or so thick (so I wouldn’t require a skin graft). And assume the procedure would be less than 500$ (A simple cut around the tattoo, and stitch up).

Thanks a lot :)

I’m looking for somewhere to get tattoo removal in Wisconsin. I’m looking for somewhere near Madison because I live in southern Wisconsin.
Have you been anywhere? What were your results?
The tattoo I want to get removed is on my back and it’s a circle, about the size of a CD. Only black ink was used.
Otherwise, if you don’t know of anywhere, what are your experiences with tattoo removal?

i hear the add for it it says that it will slowly remove unwanted tattoos. i expect that it may start to fade and eventually have to get the laser removal. But wondering if anyone has some insight on it?

I’m all for women’s equal “right” to get tattooed. This question has nothing to do with whether or not one thinks it is “proper” or “classy/trashy” to be tattooed. In fact, I find tattooing on women to be attractive, though that’s only one aspect of tattooing. And I highly respect women like “Somebody” on here, who are very smart about and dedicated to tattooing.

My question is serious – not sexist.

Tattooing in Western society has had a “culture” of it’s own, and we all know that culture is about MEANING. What does it mean to be tattooed? Why do people get tattooed? My OPINION on the right reasons to get tattooed includes:
–the images being tattooed inspire you
–the images fuel your imagination
–a more recent thing (in the West): love of art and taking that art beyond banal “canvases” of museums (along with this there is something “deep” about the permanence of it and the fact that it is on skin, w/ blood, etc)

–to mark affiliation with a group. Affiliation with a group makes people feel like they are a part of something larger than themselves.
–a memorial

Along with these comes a sense of permanence. Permanence reinforces commitment. Finally, I think tattooing has also been resorted to by marginalized/disenfranchised people as a type of property. If nothing else in this world, at least they have their tattoos, which will go with them to their death.

Think for example of sailors who were among the first to popularize getting tattooed. During long shipping voyages in crap conditions, they could use all the inspiration they got. And these people really had no property—even the clothes on their backs were often in pawn! If they went “overboard,” the one thing they would have is their tattoos—also what they look at and dream about during long days away from home.

Now why are trendy people getting tattooed nowadays?
–“dangerous” factor. People thinks it makes them “wild” or “dangerous” in some way. But guess what? It used to be much harder to get tattooed. You had to travel or interact with certain “dangerous” people to do so. These people were not “polite,” not there to be nice to you or stand for any of your bullcrap. It sickens me how encouraging people are on this site towards people asking “Should I get this tattoo?” No! Tattooing is not meant to be as easy to get (even if cheaper than) Starbucks.

In the current atmosphere of “Have a nice day,” “convenience” tattooing, any associations of “danger” are actually removed.

–to “symbolize” something. This is such a load of b.s. Yes, tattoos do “symbolize”…they indeed “mean” something. But there are many different ways of representing or symbolizing. The type of signing that trendy people usually do is not the type of signing common to tattoo culture. It would take a long and complicated discussion to explain this… you either get it or you don’t.

–to memorialize. This was the one past (traditional tattoo culture) motivation for tattooing that the trendy people have harped in on and blown all out of proportion. I don’t know if it’s because they see stuff like Miami Ink where everyone (as instructed to them by the show’s producers) walks in with some story about how blah blah happened and they need this tattoo of blah blah to represent that.
Trendy people seem to feel the need just to make ANY mark on their bodies to mark that something happened. “This shooting star is because my grandma died.” Huh?

–anxiousness to be “experienced.” As teens, most of us felt anxious about losing our virginity. Once you had sex, you joined the ranks of the non-virgin population—the EXPERIENCED population! A similar process seems to be at work with tattooing—people are anxious to get MARKED in any way to join this “club”.

But here is the thing: joining the “club” isn’t meant to be easy. There is inconvenience….pain….stigma….permanence. Inconvenience, Pain, Stigma, Permanence—these are the things that the trendy tattoo people are bent on getting around. Everything (questions on Yahoo Answers, for instance) are driven towards avoiding these obstacles— BUT THEY ARE THE VERY OBSTACLES that give MEANING to being tattooed, to being in the “club”!!

In the absense of this meaning (tattoos have become meaningless fashion), the trendy people try to add “meaning”—“symbolism”. In real tattoo culture, someone is inspired by something so much that they want it permanently put on their body. In trendy tattooing, people decide first that they “need” to get tattooed (to become part of the cool, experiened club, to attract people sexually, to work out their psychological issues of things like isolation and poor self image)…and THEN they try to “think up” a tattoo (usually some banal shape or image inspired by commercial logo-ing/branding) and add to it some stated “meaning.” Do I need to go any further in explaining how utterly bankrupt this trendy tattoo culture is?

Trendy men and women are equally guilty of lowering the standards of tattoo culture and turning it into cheap branding. But women especially seem significant in this process. Because of the nature of popular “women’s culture” ALONG WITH women’s historical relationship to the art of tattooing, they especially have sought to remove the
INCONVENIENCE (“Can I pay with my credit card?” “What brand of lotion should I buy?” “How many times a day should I rub it in?” “Let me just get a little star here on the spot today” “Let me go online and ask…”)
PAIN (“Where does it hurt least?” “What creams can I use to reduce to numb it?”…)
STIGMA (“Stop calling it a tramp stamp” “I got my tattoos for me, they are mine” “Why get it in a place where you can’t show it off?”)
PERMANENCE (“How much does tattoo removal cost and does it really work?”).

Notice that the vast majority of people asking tattoo questions on this site are women.

What do you think this means? Thanks
I wish I could change the title of this question a bit; It is hard to articulate succintly.

I don’t really like the sound of "women ruining" — it makes it sound like women (of course I only mean certain ones) as the agents….
I think a better way to say it is that tattooing has changed towards ACCOMODATING this class of trendy people–both sexes, but especially to accomodate some of the desires of women, who are a relatively "new" clientele for tattooing.

I got a tattoo at the start of the year and dont really like the way it turned out. Its on my left upper rib and its faded a bit already since my bra covers/rubs right on it. Anyways I dont really want to do the lazer removal unless i have too. Its the words "walk by faith" how much would that be and whats the best if I did the lazer removal.

But first what are the best creams that actually work and which have really worked for you if you’ve tried it. And price ranges of some.

thanks for the help.

Wrecking Balm (a tattoo removal system) works by making the skin renew and resurface faster, or something like that.
So wouldn’t you assume that it might at least reduce the appearance of stretch marks?

and how much will it cost to get an 1.5" by .5" tattoo to get removed and how many sessions its black ink

1. Does it hurt? No of course not. This is just an urban myth so that everyone doesnt go out and get tattooed. Tattoos are not applied using a tattoo machine. This is just a special effect used by tv shows. All my tattoos were licked on by kittens. Different coloured kittens for the different colors of ink.

2. How much will it cost? Actually tattoo artists feel so privileged to let them tattoo you that they will actually pay you.

3. How do I get rid of my tattoo? Most people don’t know this but there are a few methods. The human body is actually like a giant etch-o-sketch. Just shake yourself really hard and the tattoo will disapear. The second most reliable method for tattoo removal is the wizard of oz method. Just hold your hand over the tattoo you want removed and close your eyes and click your heels together while saying tattoo be gone 3 times and your tattoo should disapear.

4. Can I make my own tattoo machine or make my own tattoo? Well of course you can. Tattoo artists only go through years of aprenticeship and training for the fun of it. Just use any old ink you have lying around, and some sort of pin or needle and go for it. It should come out looking like Da Vinci did it. Don’t worry about cleanliness and infection. Having a tattoo automatically protects you from any nasty diseases you may get.

5. What tattoo should I get? It doesnt matter really. Tattoo artists just start to tattoo with their eyes closed and are magically inspired by the tattoo gods to give you the perfect tattoo for you. Each tattoo is unique and individual to your exact personality type and emotional state at the time. So just blindly walk into a studio and say you want a tattoo and they will know exactly what to do for you.

6. If I am under the legal age can I get a tattoo? Sure you can. Since tattoo’s are so easy to put on and take off, any reputable shop will gladly tattoo you no matter what age you are regardless of parental consent. Don’t forget, you and your friends can always do it yourself if you are having a hard time finding an artist to do one for you.

7. Is my tattoo infected? Of course not. Tattoos magically protect you from infection and disease.

8. What cream should I use on my tattoo? Well since you weren’t paying attention to the aftercare instructions that your artist gave you I will let you in on a little secret. The best cream to use on a tattoo is the semen of a righteous man. Preferably the Dali Lama. Just go onto ebay and get a big bottle. It should last a while.

9. Should I get a tattoo on my hands, neck, feet, face, palms, and soles of the feet? Yes, definately. Go for it. It is always a good idea, especially the face.

10. Who is the best tattoo artist in my city? You are of course!! No one knows how to tattoo you better than yourself. So pick up that dirty safety pin and break open that sharpie and go nuts.

11. Do you like my tattoo? Yes. The hazy, out of focus photobucket picture of your heart/ flower/ imp/ pixie/ fairy/ teletubby is fricking amazing. Welcome to the cool brigade, my friend

12. How soon can I drink/tan/workout after a tattoo?
Never. Getting a tattoo is a most sacred tradition. One you have tattooed your temple you may never violate it again…
Jenny, since you don’t seem to get sick of people asking the same questions over and over, why are you annoyed by my post. I am just trying to answer the most common questions asked on here so they dont get posted over and over. This is a valuable public service. If you dont like it don’t click on my question.
Kermit J: I would consider it an honor if any artist posted this at their shop. Feel free to pass it along to anyone you think would get a kick out of it. The positive responses I have gotten from tattoo artists more than makes up for the negative comments. Thanks to all others with positive comments or funny negative comments.

My husband got a smiley face tattoo on his chest before we got married and I hate it. He does not want to do laser surgery because we have been told it is a joke and too spendy. Please give me advice on what cream we should use. Thank you.
well I guess I didnt explain very well. We know that a cream will not remove the tattoo completely but that is fine. Just lighten it enough so he can get something done over it. It is basicly a big black circle with two eyes and a mouth.

When I’m old enough to legally get a tattoo I want to get some exactly the same color as my skin over the stretch marks will this work or is this just another one of my far fetched stretchmark removal ideas. No creams or cocoa butters work, and laser stretchmark removal can have complications for black people.

These days tattoos are more common than ever. Tattoos have gained quite a bit in popularity over the years, giving people a chance to stand out and broadcast who they really are. Men and women alike have tattoos, some covering their entire body. The choice is entirely up to you though, as you can get a tattoo in virtually any size you want.

Even though there are many good things about tattoos, there are bad things as well. Among the good things about tattoos include the chance to broadcast who you are, the chance to be you, and the chance to stand out. Most people who get tattoos get them for the symbolic meaning. Although there are some who get tattoos strictly for the look, many end up regretting getting the tattoo later on in life.

Tattoos are great for show, although the design itself should hold some meaning. There are a variety of designs and colors to choose from, which helps to add to the positive benefits of tattoos. You can check out many designs at your local tattoo studio, in books and magazines, and on the Internet. The Internet is a great resource for tattoo designs, as there are literally thousands to look at. You can also look at pictures of those who have tattoos so you can get an idea as to what a certain style will look like once it has been finished.

The cons of tattoos are pretty straight forward. Tattoos work by piercing the skin with a needle and injecting little gobs of ink. With that being said the risk of infection when getting a tattoo is always there. If the tattoo artist isnt sanitary and doesnt clean his equipment after every use, the risk of infection will be much higher.

Another thing to worry about with tattoos is removal. If you later decide that you dont want the tattoo, youll have to pay an expensive price to have it surgically removed. Surgery carries risks and complications as well. In some cases, those who have got tattoos have had to have the tattoo removed due to infection. In these cases the infection has gotten so bad that there really is no other choice than to get the tattoo removed.

No matter how you look at it, there will always be both pros and cons with tattoos. Before you decide to get a tattoo, you should make sure that the design you have picked out is something that you can see yourself with for years to come. If there is any doubt in your mind about the tattoo, you shouldnt get it. Even though it may seem cool at the time the price for removal and the complications with surgery may not be worth it in the long run.
